My name is Bryan Larson, owner of Brix Auto Sales. For the last 10+ years I've zigged and zagged up the corporate ladder, and in the summer of 2015 I decided it was time to try a business of my own. I've grown up talking and dreaming about cars, I remember driving at a really young age on my Grandpa's lap. My first car, at 14, my dad and I bought at a garage sale. A 1966 Mustang, one car I only dreamed about, he and I worked on that Mustang for 2 years, and finally the day came that I could legally drive it. My first car, I drove to my first job that my uncle helped me to get, a lot boy at a small used car lot. I was in heaven. Washing and waxing, rearranging, unlocking/locking, pulling cars up front for customers. How could a 16 year old want any other job?
So, I thought, what a better solution than to make a business out of an intimate hobby and interest. I brainstormed for months in order to find the best solution to keep costs low and provide a service where one is needed. These days almost everybody I know shops for vehicles online, so I asked myself, Why do I need a physical car lot? So, I've decided to store the vehicles off-site on private property, and meet the customers at the office. In order to keep rent reasonable, I decided to rent a really old building in a small town outside of the big city, and refurbish it. I found this beautiful old brick and granite building in downtown Medical Lake, WA. This building is one of Medical Lake's oldest buildings built in 1900 and was originally a bank, and still has the original bank vault.
How'd I come up with that name? Well, Brix was the name of my dog, he has since passed as of Jan. 2016 at 13 years old. So, even though he's gone, I can still kind of hang out with my buddy everyday. You'll notice all the accents in the office are red, also inspired by Brix, it was the color of his collar.
I thankfully have the support of my family, friends and even my first boss at that used car lot.
The next step is to give it my best shot. Here we go!!!!
